Fishing Is King At Driftwood Resort

Ask any Driftwood Resort patron why they return year after year and most likely one of the top answers you'll hear is "For The Fishing!"

Sand Lake, with a maximum depth of 70 feet, provides 4,300 acres of great walleye, northern, bass, jumbo perch, crappie and panfish fishing and direct access to six other area lakes.

We have developed a reputation over the years as a great fishing resort, not only because of the lunker walleye and other fish that are caught year after year, but also because we put extra effort into ensuring that your fishing experience is a great one.  That means you can count on always finding the freshest bait on site, complimentary on-site boat launching, gas and oil delivered directly to your boat, and rental motors and boats that are well maintained.

We also have a fish packer's
license - allowing anglers to remove all the skin on fillets before freezing them. And of course we have plenty of free freezer space to store your fish before you leave.

Spring Fishing:

The Fishing Opener in early May is almost always a great one on Sand Lake - You'll usually find walleye in shallow water of 4 to 8 feet until the water temps heat up in early June.

Summer Fishing:

From walleye, northern and perch, to crappie, small and largemouth bass; you'll find great fishing on Sand Lake all summer long.  We suggest you fish the shallow weedbeds in the early morning and evenings and work the deep ledges, deep weedbeds, underwater humps and deep points during the rest of the day.

Fall Fishing:

Our favorite time of the year is the Fall Fishing Season.  Nearly every species becomes more aggressive as they gorge themselves in preparation for the long winter ahead.   Just remember one thing - hang on to your line with both hands, because when they hit that lure you're going to have a fight on your hands!
